BRAVO! – More interesting, inspiring theatre for the young!

The Bravo! festival being held this year for the fifth time once again acts as a showcase in Helsinki, Espoo and Vantaa for international theatre for children and young people. The six well-known theatre groups chosen for Bravo! 2008 are from Québec, Hungary, Germany,
France and Denmark. The performances are rich in non-verbal, poetic and visual narrative and strongly feature themes of friendship, shared memories and experiences set in fairytale worlds.

The 2008 Bravo! festival is, as in previous years, produced by the Finnish ASSITEJ Centre in partnership with the Helsinki, Espoo and Vantaa cultural authorities. Also lending their support this year are the Centre culturel français, the Goethe-Institut Finnland, the Hungarian Cultural and Scientific Centre Helsinki, Québec Government Office, London and the Embassy of Canada. The festival is our contribution to the European Year of Intercultural Dialogue by means of international cooperation in children’s theatre.
