The story of beautiful Maria is a bandit adventure story set in South America. Accompanied by smoothly rocking Latin rhythms, Maria dreams of prosperity and freedom, but ends up instead as the wife of the bandit chief Lampiao. The theatre group Batida plays and brings this 1920s legend into musical life in a colourful and touching way.
